Passfield Park School uses an assistive learning devices known as buttons. Buttons are a switch activated, electronic type devices. They assist students with their communication by allowing the student to record a request or greeting in their own voice, and to playback the recording to a teacher, parent or another student.
This is a button with a single switch that has voice recording capabilities. It is useful for requesting items, gaining attention, greeting/farewelling and requesting ‘more'. Object symbols can be velcroed to the switch.
The button image on the right has an image attached to help students to communicate the word "help".
